Dr. Louis Turi :   It occurred to me your career reporting on bizaar stories  may have some origins with early childhood trauma given  you say you are from Southern France in the early 1950's?  And there's this video about   " French village of Pont Saint Esprit" where involuntary human experimentation was done by the CIA.  I have an idea maybe you  encountered someone who was victim to LSD experiments if not one yourself?  In your youth or childhood near there?      "HGP 64 :1951 MKDelta -Operation Span"  "In August of 1951 the CIA had spiked the local food with LSD as part of a mind control experiment at the height of the Cold War."
