  • Stephan Arturius don't get info from unauthentic source, you will be much confused. You should get info from original source of knowledge(Puranas) about 7 sages and Shiva etc.
7 sages changes in different era(Manavantara), they have their own duty towards the word.
Shiva is The God/ishwara i.e. the lord of everything. and Poseidon i.e.Varuna in vedic culture is just a demigod post i.e. lord of the water bodies.

brother, if a police man and the president both having a gun, it doesn't mean police duty and presidency is same thing.
You may have enough info about Poseidon and Neptune, but You are lacking in knowledge about who is Shiva, what is Shiva.
As per vedic culture, The Shiva himself is not just having divine trident, but he is also having bow, axe and all other divine weapons. He is also giver of the divine weapons to humans. Local Manifestation of The Shiva who is The Shiva himself lives on snow mountain Kailasha in Himalaya. And The Shiva as the universal formless intelligent consciousness in form is residing on his own loka(world) "Kailash loka" which is beyond all galaxies. The Shiva is ishvara(lord of everything, ruler of everything). and these Varuna, Poseidon, Neptune etc. dudes are just water lords only and just rulers of water bodies only.
There is clear difference between Lord of everyone and everything & Lord of water bodies.

I do not know if you care to consider Neptune in astrology or not, but in Western Astrology Neptune is most pronounced in the Sign of Western Tropical Pisces(the last 1/3 of Winter where the Sun is Now and where Neptune is transitting Now). The 12th House and where Neptune is most associated with is also Pisces. The illustrations I keep finding of Shiva and the photographs of Neptune seem to have the same blue skin color. That is the color associated with the Ocean. The 3 major color stripes look to me like the 3 stripes on Shiva 's forehead. From my perspective I keep seeing 3 numerology is prolific in a lot of symbols throught the world. So is the number 7. Maybe Shiva shows himself as Neptune's incarnation in this Solar System to a lot of people? and some other being in others? I do not know. I try not to study and make claims about astrology, mythology, and religions making insisting I know the answers, but I juxtapose interesting and fascinating contrast and comparison to agitate discussion and give food for thought.

I have personal reason for why I am fascinated by Shiva and Neptune right now especially. This character "Korla Pandit" http://www.korlapandit.com/ learned to play very talented keyboards in a very odd and exotic manner that made him famous. His television performing character was a claim he was the son of a Hindu Brahmin when in fact his origins were that of a poor African American Family. Korla Pandit's Natal Sun is conjunct my natal Sun (22 Virgo & 23 Virgo Western) . Neptune is now opposing moving towards 22 Pisces. United States Declaration of Independance date of Neptune 22 Virgo. United States is also about to experience Pluto return. There is plenty of more information elsewhere online on these subjects.

I appreciate ur curiosity, but as per vedic texts, shiva has blue throat only, but full body is white or gray like ash or little golden sometimes. in ur post its gray body i think. you see vishnu he has dark blue body.

and as per vedic texts, all planets and stars are shiva's manifestations. shiva is not incarnation of neptune.
and there are divine personalities like shiva vishnu etc. are associated to different planets in vedic astro. May be Vishnu or Varuna can be associated with Neptune. but not shiva.

regardless of who these deities are, I do not understand how astrology from such an intensely vibrant part of the world: India (Hindu / Vedic / Jyotish) where all sorts of intense metaphors and ornaments and analogies of 1,000's of different goddesses and gods symbolizing nature and encouraging one's own personal metaphors, with endless art work, from that area around India can have such enormous detail on the major planets without some consensus what Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are. Astrology seems obsolete and incomplete without appreciating what those call "outer planets" They are part of the rhythm of our solar system extremely so by science.

Poseidon is a complete god. A demigod is someone who has a deity for one parent, and a human for another.
